Probably the 1st rule of composition a photographer tries to master is the ‘Getting the Horizon Horizontal”. This is probably the one rule you should always follow, especially for landscapes. Well that is of course, until now.
For this “Mini Competition”, you will purposely break the “Horizontal Horizon” rule.
I want you to purposely ‘TILT’ your camera for your shot. Not a slight tilt as the viewer will just think you don’t know how to take photos. But instead a very dramatic tilt, really go for it. If there is no horizon in the shot, then find a creative angle to photograph the subject to make it look tilted.
Entries will be in the form of 8x10 matted prints. You may submit up to 2 prints. The top 5 prints chosen by the CCAA Camera Club Board will then be put on the internet for the club members to vote on. So you not only will need to supply a print, but top 5 needs to supply a jpeg file.
A 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place ribbon will be awarded and these ribbons will go towards your cumulative competition points.
-Prints are due the meeting of June 12th.
-The 5 Finalists will be contacted via e-mail and asked to supply a jpeg file.
-I will post the 5 finalists on this website.
-Voting will take place between June 13th & June 25th via e-mail (those w/o e-mail may vote in person June 26th)
-The 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners will be announced at the June 26th meeting.
Go out and have some fun with photography
